With nine of Vietnam’s ten triumphs in that sequence seeing them score at least two goals, another landslide victory against Cambodia looks well on the cards. Meanwhile, the Cambodians have lost all six matches against Vietnam in the 21st century, netting just three goals while conceding 22 in return. Yet to play this year, Koji Gyotoku’s men closed 2024 on an underwhelming run of just one win from five games (D2, L2), conceding multiple goals in each winless fixture. However, they found the net at least once on four occasions, highlighting the potential for another high-scoring contest. But three consecutive scoring blanks against Vietnam paint a bleak picture.
