Paris Saint-Germain had to go to great lengths to book their place in the Coupe de France final, overcoming a two-goal deficit to beat second-tier Dunkerque 4-2 in midweek cup action. A record-extending 13th Ligue 1 title looks like a mere formality for Luis Enrique’s men after a 6-1 rout of Saint-Etienne last weekend extended their lead at the table’s summit to an unassailable 21 points, stretching their winning league streak to five while netting 3+ goals on each occasion! Yet to lose a Ligue 1 fixture this season (W22, D5), Les Parisiens are on the verge of becoming only the second side to go unbeaten in their first 28 games of a French top-flight season after Nantes in 1994/95. Anything other than another routine win would be a once-in-a-lifetime upset, considering Enrique’s charges boast an intimidating 15-game winning league streak against Angers!

Stranded in the opposite half of the table, Angers fight tooth and nail to extend their top-flight status for another season, languishing only three points away from the relegation playoff spot after failing to win any of their last five league outings (D1, L4). Indeed, the visitors take this ominous-looking trip on a four-game losing league streak without finding the back of the net, including a 3-0 home loss to Rennes last time out. Another identical defeat would see ‘Le SCO’ lose five top-flight matches ‘to nil’ in succession for the first time since 1980. Worryingly, three of their previous five competitive visits to PSG’s home ground have ended in such a manner.
