Bodo/Glimt vs Lazio

Aspmyra Stadion is the venue as Bodo/Glimt and Lazio go head-to-head in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie.

Bodo/Glimt got the better of Olympiacos in the round of 16 to set up their first-ever quarter-final tie of the Europa League, beating the Greek giants 4-2 on aggregate, largely thanks to a 3-0 first-leg win on home turf. Furthermore, the hosts head into proceedings as the most prolific team in this competition with 24 goals, having netted six against Twente in the knockout playoff round. As a result, Kjetil Knutsen’s charges will be out to become the first Norwegian club to reach the semi-finals of a major UEFA competition, relying on their strong record of seven victories from their last nine two-legged European ties. A flying start would be of help, with Bodo/Glimt boasting an imperious run of just one defeat from their last 12 first-leg outings (W8, D3).

Visiting Lazio must defy Bodo/Glimt’s eye-catching record of eight victories from their last nine continental games on home turf (L1) to return home with a favorable result. ‘I Biancocelesti’ squeaked past Viktoria Plzen 3-2 on aggregate to set up their first European quarter-final since 2018 – their sixth overall last-eight appearance in this competition. However, they’ve lost their last two away matches at this stage of the Europa League, contributing to their negative quarter-final record (W2, L3). Nonetheless, Marco Baroni’s men take this trip in good spirits after only losing once in their last seven outings across all competitions (W3, D3), including three victories from their four most recent road matches (L1).
