Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion

High-flying Brighton & Hove Albion head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to encounter out-of-sorts Tottenham Hotspur in a handsomely-looking Premier League showdown.

Despite being gifted a second-half penalty and boasting a man up for a third of their match against relegation-battling Everton last time out, Tottenham could only manage a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, derailing their chances of catching fourth-placed Manchester United. Considering ‘Spurs’ have only won once in their last four Premier League outings (D2, L1), a three-point gap between the sides looks like a jackpot for caretaker boss Cristian Stellini. Back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where they’ve not drawn any of their last 24 Premier League fixtures (W17, L7), Tottenham will be targeting a fifth straight top-flight home win to reignite their top-four pursuit. Even though they had won four home league meetings with Brighton on the trot before a 1-0 defeat in this corresponding fixture last term, ‘Spurs’ cannot take anything for granted.

In the meantime, visiting Brighton & Hove Albion comfortably dispatched relegation-threatened Bournemouth 2-0 on the road last weekend, stretching their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven games (W5, D2).  But while they’ve not lost any of their five away league matches in 2023 (W2, D3), that win over Bournemouth was their first after three consecutive draws on the road. The ‘Seagulls’ could be an attacking nuisance, as witnessed by their impressive run of scoring 2+ goals in six of their last seven Premier League travels. However, traveling fans may have to be patient to see their side get on the scoresheet, with 15 of their last 18 Premier League goals in London coming in the second half of play. Moreover, they’re winless in their three most recent top-flight visits to the capital (D1, L2).
