Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City 19/01/19

19 January 2019

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City will face-off at the Molineux Stadium, with both sides looking to bounce back from last weekend’s failures.

The Wanderers have suffered a 3-0 road loss to Manchester City, which was their second successive Premier League failure, in which they’ve failed to hit the net. Nuno Espirito Santo’s players have lost five of the previous seven PL home clashes, with four of them ended with the identical 2-0 scoreline against their favor. On the other hand, each of Wolverhampton’s last four home triumphs in all competitions have seen them score exactly two goals per match. Although Wolves managed only three clean sheets in 11 PL home outings, just 27% of them have produced over 2.5 goals. But, the previous nine competitive games Wolves played have ended with a minimum of two goals although only three saw both this scoring.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into this meeting after back-to-back losses in domestic competitions. However, the Foxes have won both of their last two PL road trips with the identical 1-0 scoreline. Still, goals have been in short supply in Leicester’s previous six PL road clashes, as four of them ended 1-0, while the remaining two produced two goals apiece. What’s more, Claude Puel’s players have failed to hit the net in the first half on their last seven road trips in all competitions. Toothless in the final third and firm at the back, the Foxes have emerged as one of the most ‘boring’ teams in the English top flight. Four of Leicester’s last ten competitive outings have seen both teams scoring, while just two produced over 2.5 goals.
